Day 56 of The Big Adventure, according to Sarah.
We woke up pretty late and we all had different things to do in the morning. Lauren wanted to get a leg wax before heading back to Aus (and more importantly seeing Clark), Freya and Parker wanted more tanning time and I wanted to take some pictures and wander around the town a little more.
So we all went our separate ways.

I arranged with Lauren to meet up with her for lunch and considering we’d parted ways a fair few hours ago I thought her leg wax would be done by now. How wrong I was.
I went to go and find her at the salon and she was not a happy bunny. Turns out the beauty therapists didn’t know how to do a wax at all and were peeling rather than quickly pulling the wax off.
It looked very painful and they left loads of waxy residue on her legs. They did a horrendous job and Lauren refused to pay for such shoddy work.
We headed back to get some lunch and ended up in Cafe 41 so she could have an omelette. I wanted a banh mi so dashed up the road to the best banh mi stall in Hoi An (according to TripAdvisor) and got a chicken sandwhich. I took it back to Cafe 41 and ate with Lauren and the girls came and joined us on their way back from the beach. We had a leisurely afternoon and sat and had a few beers (mostly Freya) while we waited for our cooking course.
We headed next door when the time came and were very excited to learn some Vietnamese cooking.
We learnt how to cook: stuffed squid, vegetable spring rolls, chicken curry, pork with lemongrass and chilli and vegetable pho (noodle soup).
It was very interesting and surprisingly simple and we all vowed to throw a Vietnamese dinner party when we got home.
After we’d finished cooking it all, we took it through to the restaurant and got to eat it. It was pretty darn good if I do say so myself.

We decided to go home and freshen up before heading into town for Lauren’s last night with us 😦
We all showered and got ready and Lauren had a little Skype with Clark. We realised we needed to pick up Parkers dress and skirt and so left Lauren chatting with Clark while we went on ahead, with the plan to meet in town.

We headed out and tracked down the shop were we’d gone to pick up the clothes and on the way out Lauren text us that we’d locked her out of the room! Uh oh!
She had her phone and her purse on her so she said she’d just come as she was. We agreed to meet by the bridge and went to TigerTiger bar for a free cocktail (Lau P and Freya had been a few nights ago and loved it).
We ordered some cocktails that turned out to be very strong and Lauren refused to drink hers. All the more for us. We sat and chatted for a while and then Lauren wanted to head home because she was stressed about packing. We were all still having a nice time and she told us all to stay, so we gave her our key and ordered another round.
We realised that she hadn’t been herself recently and we didn’t know whether it was just because she hadn’t been eating properly (v. v. v. strict diet) or she wasn’t enjoying traveling anymore and just wanted to be back in Sydney.
Anyway we had a few more drinks and got chatting to a kiwi stag group at the next table who were verrry friendly.
At this point, I decided to head home (not a huge drinker) and Parker and Freya stayed out for a BNO.
