Day 54 of The Big Adventure according to Sarah.
We arrived in Hoi An around 6am, only having managed to get a couple of hours kip. Lauren informed us the hostel was only a 5 min walk so we headed in that direction. Again, google maps was not quite right and we ended up walking right past it.
Anyway we managed to find it in the end and checked in and they showed us straight up to our room where we promptly fell asleep until midday.
We awoke feeling like we’d slept the whole day and decided to head into town for a wander around.
We decided to go for breakfast in Cafe41 over the road – Freya had a Viatnamese chicken sandwhich (SO much flavour), Lau P had a tuna burger, Lauren had fruit and I had a banana pancake with so much condensed milk I felt sick (oops).
Then we wandered into town and
stumbled upon the Japanese covered bridge – a bridge built by the Japanese to be able to trade with the locals.
We wandered around the little streets of the old town and took in all the shops selling art, beautiful ceramic bowls, lots of custom made clothes.

Freya and I had found some clothes we liked and went in to get ourselves measured so they could make them the perfect fit. How exciting.
We walked along the river which was highly decorated – we realised Vietnamese New Year was coming up so it must all be for that.
We headed back to the hotel to sort ourselves out before heading out for dinner. We decided to try somewhere down by the river and ended up in a distinctly average place that had verrrry strong cocktails. Freya had pork and cashew stir-fry, Lau P had seafood noodles, I had a very boney chicken curry and Lauren had sautéed vegetables.
Freya and Lau P decided to stay out drinking but Lauren wanted to head home so I went with her.
Freya and Lau P ended up having a BNO (big night out).
